Today, Interfaith Refugee Project became Refugee Action Fund!
We are excited to share an important change related to Interfaith Refugee Project. Since its launch in 2016, we have been continually inspired by the generosity of people in our communities who are helping refugees live with the dignity and safety they deserve.
Unfortunately, the crisis facing refugees has only intensified as a result of war, persecution, extreme violence and terror. The flow of forcibly displaced persons has not subsided and xenophobic policies around the world have made it all but impossible to resettle the 65 million people who have no safe place to call home.
When we assessed the impact of Interfaith Refugee Project, we realized we could do more to build a robust network of support for refugees and all forcibly displaced people.
That’s why we are relaunching today as Refugee Action Fund.
Together, we are mobilizing philanthropic giving to help refugees and other forcibly displaced people achieve safety, dignity and opportunities to live productive lives.
Our name has changed, but our core work has not. We are deepening our existing efforts to support organizations that address the multifaceted needs of refugees—immediate humanitarian assistance, comprehensive legal representation, resettlement support and advocacy to protect the rights of refugees in the United States and abroad.
We will continue to identify and fund organizations that are holistic, strategic and innovative in their approaches to supporting forcibly displaced people.
As Refugee Action Fund continues to grow, we will be building a leadership committee, hosting more educational and fundraising events and sending out monthly newsletters. We look forward to sharing more with you soon.
Thank you for being our partner by providing refugees with the resources and opportunities they need to build their lives anew.
With gratitude for your support and commitment,
Michelle, Hussein, Greg and Julie
